Can anyone comment or advise what's happening to Metzeler tires in Singapore? I want to buy Marathon ME 880 110/90 x 18 and 150/90 x 15 for my Yamaha Vmax. They are still listed in the Metzeler catalog but it seems the main importer (JR Singapore) is reluctant to bring them in now. Sadly, there are few alternatives for my bike and I think they are the best tires I've used. Other bikes use this size too - not just the Vmax. I spoke to JR and have their permission to quote what they told me as follows:-
- don't want to keep stock of unpopular sizes
- can order with a deposit
- no guarantee when they can be delivered - maybe next year
- no guarantee the tires will be fresh
The first three I can live with the the fourth one sounds a bit scary to me.
I've had no replies from Metzelermoto in Italy or Metzeler head office in Germany or to a message I posted on the Singapore Vmax owners club forum. I just wondered if anyone had any knowledge of an alternative source or any other advice to offer.
